Adventures With Will

In September of 2013, I went on an adventure with three other people I had never met before. We attempted to hike Mt. Nebo at midnight, having never done the hike before. A year in a half later, the five of us are the best of friends, starting a company together now, I started Adventures With Will from that event with them, which has grown to over 300 members and growing at an average rate of almost three people a week. That is actually pretty good.

Adventures With Will is growing, and when an organization grows so does the responsibility. Adventures With Will is now requiring all participants in all adventures to sign a waiver.

During all adventures, AWW is now requiring all participants to carry within an envelope any medical information needed incase of an emergency. This envelope will be kept on your person, or with the trip leader and returned at the end of the trip and only opened up in case of an emergency and medical attention is needed.

We will also start incorporating trip leaders soon, and encouraging others to get their Wilderness First Aid to become trip leaders. As AWW grows we will start seeing about providing these trainings and getting people better trained in rescues, and increasing your skills in the outdoors.

Almost every trip now requires a $5 non-refundable deposit, planning for adventures takes a lot of my time and energy, and running two business and starting a third takes most of my time. The $5 deposit is to help people become committed to the event, as what typically happens is I plan for 20 people and only 10 show up, that takes a lot of time to plan for 20 as opposed to 10. If I have only 10 people who commit then I can plan for 10 and that makes it easier.

It has been wonderful all the adventures we have all been on and we will continue to have amazing adventures.

And.....I am starting a blog for our adventures!
